day nineteen.

i started my adult popular lit class today. we're reading books in all genres: mystery, science fiction, fantasy, western, urban lit, romance, and literary non-fiction.
being forced to read something that isn't a pdf file for a class? oh, and you get to have a class book club- with snacks? yes, please.
i am starting with an audio book by kathy reichs (because i like the show "bones") and ursula le guin's the left hand of darkness.
one of the main goals of the course is to make us nonjudgmental of others' reading interests, which i think most of us recovering english majors desperately need.

i think i may actually get to sleep early tonight.

  1. That sounds like an interesting class. I'd love to hear how it goes when you start actually talking about the books!

  2. I'm actually reading "Love in the Time of Cholera" right now...and the cover is nowhere near as interesting as that cover

  3. the covers of romance novels are what i will solely be basing my selections on, as i have to read 2 of them. and yes, i will update on the enlightenment/occasional hilarity to come!
