day three hundred twenty-one.

lining pages.

the weather today was sort of gloomy but perfect.
i celebrated by consuming a large pile of broccoli and hot sauce for dinner.

now i have been listening to the thunderstorm and doing research for my book crimes class (or, reading about sad librarians and x-acto knives).
it might have been a good idea to pay closer attention during the law section of my reference class last fall.
perhaps i will just look up pie recipes for the remainder of the evening.

baby porcupines!
or, a cute thing destroys your home

the mischief begins

Porcupines eat as much as one pound of plant material per day. As a result of their diet, porcupines smell strongly of old sawdust. (informative text not even close to being from this book)

Porcupines are nocturnal herbivores, which means that they eat plants during the night. Their diet varies with location and the season of the year. In the spring and summer porcupines eat buds, flowers, leaves and small twigs.

In winter the inner bark, or cambium, of trees forms the main part of their diet (or cigarettes)

now drunk on carbs and nicotine:

day two hundred forty-four.

last night there was a kicking and screaming party at robyn & joel's rather grand new apartment, followed by scrabble, instant streams of 30 rock, and watching a raccoon descend from a large tree. emma swore that he would be friendly.

today i slept late and woke to sunshine and excellent breezes creeping through the windows.
alas, the long weekend must end.

happy dance friday from the bowels of the GSLIS building.
thus far, i recruited new students at orientation to be volunteers at the library and drank free diet coca-cola.
it was refreshing to see everyone so excited about the start of the semester.

I'm Taggerty Toad

by Peter Pavey

the tiger interrupted his speech:

so he gave him the FINGER

(yes, the toad only has 4 digits, so he doesn't technically have one middle finger. but what else could this be, other than an easter egg of profanity?)
