day three hundred fifty-five.

christmas day in the suburbs

my sister katie got some glassware that came with chalk to write one's name on the side.
the same idea as those scratch off solo cups.
a few had been toyed with at the store.

"it says balls on your face."

 tomatoey.

i let cousin patrick label my cup.

we did an ornament exchange with all the relatives.
this is my new friend.

my contribution to the table:

my dad made me vegan banana bread!
this will not last long.

friend katie took me to the st. louis galleria, for sparkly fun librarian times.
santa was there and i think he had a cold.

day three hundred twenty-one.

lining pages.

the weather today was sort of gloomy but perfect.
i celebrated by consuming a large pile of broccoli and hot sauce for dinner.

now i have been listening to the thunderstorm and doing research for my book crimes class (or, reading about sad librarians and x-acto knives).
it might have been a good idea to pay closer attention during the law section of my reference class last fall.
perhaps i will just look up pie recipes for the remainder of the evening.

day three hundred seven.

classtime smarts.
(our professor broke her nose and was absent last week (ow), so she brought us halloween candy today upon her return. it seems like it should be the other way around. and yet, the sugar was nice)

monday night movie.
put me in the mood for some hitchcock later this week.

day three hundred one.

frost on the grass, a few mornings ago (featuring: sweater tights).
take that, seasonal allergies.

(found in a book by co-worker laura)

i had a dream once about eating cheetos and woke up with a stomach ache.

day two hundred seventy-one.

un fine de settimana en ottobre
(indoors)

i had lunch at za's with former roommate beth, who shares an intense love for halloween and garlic bread.
she put me in the october spirit with this:

(goblins are sneaky, dancing creatures)
(i'm also quite relieved that they clarified who the fashion coordinator was on this video shoot for my future reference)

at jamie and bethany's apartment. neighbors!

tiny dog i thought was a cat and/or ewok the first time i saw him emerge

then it was time for: librarian dance party!

movement clothes: check

 dance cookies: check.

too much funk for camera lenses to handle: triple check.

so much work to do now

day two hundred sixty-seven.

(side note: my post from yesterday disappeared, but is still showing up in the rss feed. apologies if you are seeing this twice. thursday coming up!)

feeling a bit better this evening.
my brain is hitting that point, after several days of sickness, where i no longer want sleep or pillows or pajamas, and wish i just had the energy to move move move.
hoping for a thursday without fuzziness, or at least one with some momentum.
(antsy limbs need open spaces)

i also wish to resume eating like a normal human type person:

day two hundred fifty-six.

busy saturday here in the other twin cities.
an early morning at the public library, for computer tutoring sessions with senior citizens, followed by a nice brunch at the courier cafe:

(i love when places give you your own little pot)

then:
jessica, of the DC jessicas, came to visit!

 spicy salmon at siam terrace.

she is on a dream vacation through the state of illinois and was kind enough to breeze through my area for the evening.
we followed our dinner with a movie and sorbet at cakes on walnut.

happy times.
