day two hundred thirty-six.
my sister beth, friend katie, and i saw soul asylum play at sweet corn festival last night as well. we waited 75 minutes (highlighted by a wyclef cover) to hear "runaway train" and then peaced out. they wished us all a happy harvest. worth it.
now doing spanish homework at la biblioteca.
i bought the "clueless" soundtrack at the booksale yesterday and it was the soundtrack to my sunday toast. amazing.
Saturday, August 28, 2010
day two hundred thirty-five.
from the desk of a cataloger:
a rugby game has been watched in the park today, sweet corn and brewed root beer consumed, and a book sale attended to. the possibilities of an afternoon nap are currently being explored.

i've never really taken notice of it before; its just been one of those giant things you see every day and allow your brain to ignore.
yesterday when i was pulling something out of my bag, i decided to read the plaque for whatever reason:
the same gallaudet university i lived just a few short blocks from in DC.
the east is calling me back...

Sunday, August 22, 2010
day two hundred twenty-nine.
yesterday was my sister katie's engagement party, complete with 97% of my extended family and a stanley cup cake:
one little boy couldn't believe that it was actually a cake, until...
classes and my return to cataloging children's literature starts tomorrow.
for now, i'm listening to jenny lewis at the library and pretending i'm not hearing the person at the table next to me talk to her study buddy about what happened at a house party last night (but oh boy, things happened).
(i kept calling it a cup cake and i don't think anyone thought that was funny except me)
(i still think it is)
(it is)

Thursday, August 19, 2010
day two hundred twenty-six.
the dorms are moving in today, so i am maintaining my distance from green st. and campus until much later.
but i did get a nice walk in yesterday afternoon, updating myself on current construction projects and the status of sorority recruitment (i didn't miss it guys, DON'T WORRY).
