day two hundred five.

today the interns took a trip to baltimore to tour a maritime administration vessel called:

CAPE WRATH

boats need libraries too
(and storage space)

the labels for the phones to the radio and steering gear rooms were in polish

anyone for a swim?

intern nicole ate these at lunch
it tasted like lowry's seasoned salt

i won a prize for knowing the name of cape wrath's sister ship (cape washington)

the hand model formerly known as intern jeremy said they tasted like porcelain.
sweet, sweet porcelain.

also, one of the men giving the tour asked if there were any future lawyers in our midst, and all i could think about was arrested development, given the context:

Maggie Lizer: What kind of law do you practice?

(Young Michael: You’re a crook, Captain Hook.)

Michael: Maritime. Maritime law. The lawyers of the sea.

Maggie: Ah, a submarine chaser.

  1. Love that first picture. And the axe. Wish I had captured that. Wrath is probably the wrong thing to write on an axe. I feel like it might imbue some special, inescapable power to anyone who touches it. Yes, I read too much fantasy. Get over it.
